Turning your lifestyle into a brand

In our personal branding work with groups and individuals, we see an increasing need for the way people spend their precious time to be relevant and deeply fulfilling in their lives. The NYTimes recently ran an article on the cultural need to do meaningful work and to be deeply connected with how we chose to earn a living. With the popularity of the new individualism, we see more and more people (ourselves included!) striking out on their own, making compromises about salary and work hours to regain self-control and responsibility for self-satisfaction. The article profiles a seemingly unlikely candidate to do so...maybe it'll inspire someone you know to use their personal brand to achieve their dreams.

Read the article here.

These days, lifestyle branding is only a CafePress membership away! I think part of the desperate need for individuality is a natural response to a society that has become increasingly overrun with corporations and chains.

We couldn't agree more and we're glad to see it turn this way. It seems like everyone I know is developing product for CafePress, or taking time to get their MySpace photo just right. Yay! for individualism!

Hey speaking of individualism, don't you think it's time to fancy the blog up a bit? ;) Put that sweet looking logo of yours on here!

...ah yes, the logo is tre sweet...btw, we LOVE your blog! And we intend to take a hint from it and "pretty ours up" as soon as we can figure out how. We're not art directors, you know ;)

Outstanding! I applaud this new layout design.

Art Director be damned, my html skills are so rudimentary that I was forced to go with one of the preexisting templates. Shhh.... Don't tell!
